Rohan (Fyah Fashion) Robotham

Rohan Robotham , otherwise known in the music industry as “D.J. Fyah Fashion”, is revered as the “Remix King” by those who know his work. Fyah Fashion was born in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies, and migrated to the Bronx, New York, U.S.A. at a young age. There he completed his elementary, high school and college education.

He worked in office management from 1995 – present day, and was a partner in establishing Market Track/Media Track Inc. Company, that would have him working in the U.S. and Jamaica. Amidst all his working accomplishments, music had always remained at the heart of his pursuits.

Fyah Fashion was exposed to the music industry by shadowing his older brother Garnett Robotham, who was a Jamaican Selector with Tony Screw from the Down Beat Sound. With Garnett’s mentoring, he started to D.J. at house parties in his early teenage years, and then at local school events. He was also known on the college circuit where he was the guest DJ in quite a few states. From those experiences, he crafted his playing skills in various genre of music like, Hip Hop, Reggae, R&B, Soca & Calypso, Latin, Salsa, etc.

Not limiting himself to any one brand of music, opened the doors for Fyah Fashion to play in high - end music clubs in New York City, such as the Latin Quarter, Union Square, Roxy’s, The Tunnel, Lime Light and Palladium. Fashion was able to exhibit his expertise by playing with some of the top D.J.’s of the time. Namely, Funk Master Flex, Red Alert, Kid Capri and DJ Clue. Playing in these venues allowed him to meet many promoters. These meetings offered him the opportunity to tour overseas. This would take him from the U.S.A. to Japan, Belgium, Italy, Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Belize, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, England, Barcelona and to his homeland of Jamaica.

D.J. Fyah Fashion has played alongside some of Jamaica’s finest sounds and DJ’s alike, such as; Tony Matterhorn, Stone Love, Fire Links, Renaissance Disco, Metro Media, Bass Odyssey. He’s also played alongside Miami & New York’s FunkMaster Flex, Kid Capri, Dj Clue, Red Alert, Black Chiney , King Waggy T, Dj Irie and DJ Khalid just to name a few.

Fyah Fashion has a catalog of remix vinyl 12” records where he is the founder of the underground label named Dj’s Runnin Things which features remixed songs from Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae. He’s appeared on BET, MTV and in Music Videos. He’s played on radio stations with a # 1 show on Mixx 96.1 FM Caribbean Station, WEDR (99 JamZ ), Blaze 104.7 FM Hip Hop Station, and presently you can hear him live on Jusmuzic.com Saturday Nights from 9pm to 12 midnight.

As a true music lover, playing music alone wouldn’t suffice for Fyah Fashion, but the desire to provide a place for music to be created was his next endeavor, so he established Real Links Music Studio in Kingston Jamaica, in 2010 and R.A.R Productions Studios in Miami Florida. There, Fyah Fashion has been creating reggae rhythms, mixes, and producing music for artists in Jamaica, Canada and U.S.A.

Fyah Fashion has produced the Sunrise Blvd, Fyah Bounce, International, GTA Affect and Chessboxin Riddims. Fashion has an extensive lists of Artists’ he’s produced and created rhythms for, notably: Wayne Wonder, Capleton, Beenie Man, Busy Signal, Chino, Bugle, Exco Levi, Qriag , Fat Joe, Grand Puba , Sweet Sable, Sting, Tribe Called Quest, Afrika Bambaataa , Broadway, EMF and so much more.
